Cake smash - 1st Birthday Fun

 So this year I decided I wanted to do lots more cake smash photo shoots.  12 years ago I was one of the first photographers in Staffordshire to offer this shoot which I got the idea from USA.  I used to be so busy with then my Baker almost had a full time job just with my cake orders.

The shoots have slowed down over the past years with more and more photographers popping up and offering these fun shoots - so I decided this year I would design new sets, and become the ‘go to cake smash photographer’ - that’s the goal anyway.

So this month  I have 7 this month and I can’t wait to design the sets - which I spend my evenings making.

So far I’ve done unicorn - which consisted of a unicorn balloon arch which I design and make myself.  

The next was a little more unique and I will be the only person in the country to offer this design - natural hearts - this consists of natural colour heart material in the background, hessian material, coffee coloured balloons and teddies holding hearts in crates plus some bunting lol - I have to say it looked super stunning.

Coming this week is pastel rainbows - which I will make a rainbow balloon arch, rainbow macrame and clouds using a cream background with wooden floor , and the second one to come this week is ‘hot air balloons’. I will create a blue background with clouds and hot air balloons.  I have been making the hot air balloons and clouds from foam, card and stuffed felt.

I cant wait to show these but for now here is the first couple of shoots I’ve done - keep posted for our next themes x

Archie's First Birthday Cake Smash Shoot

We kicked off 2022 with a wonderful 1st birthday shoot for little Archie.   His mummy chose our wonderful jungle scene and she added a personalised bunting and bought some of Archie's teddies from home to incorporate in the scene.  

Archie wore his own little outfit from home and they bought their own cake.

He loved to play with the spoons and enjoyed bashing the cake - he wasn't so fond of the taste tho LOL

A cake smash is a form of messy play and we encourage them to play, touch, feel and taste to experience and enjoy the session.   Archie certainly tried to experience everything and enjoyed peeling the chocolate and eating that.  

We finished off the session with a splash bath which Archie absolutely loved and that's where we saw his little character come to life.  He totally enjoyed that part of the session and what better way to end the photo shoot by cleaning away the mess?

We had a successful Christmas season with so many sessions I was glad for my Christmas break.

We have reopened the studio now for 2022 and already are becoming very busy,  January I only have 2 time slots left and Feb is getting busy.

 Maternity Photo Sessions - What to expect when your expecting!

We love maternity sessions at our studio and you will find our comfortable and modern studio a perfect setting.   We have quite a few gowns for use now from black to white to colour, we have many options to choose from.   

The session is best done around 30-35weeks but it can be done at any time as long as you have a lovely bump.  We can include partners and siblings in the shoot too.

At your consultation we will discuss your options for your shoot so that when you arrive you will have freshly steamed gowns ready for use.

We pride ourselves in making you feel comfortable and posing you to get the best out of your body shape and bump.  The session is fun, relaxed and you will go away feeling great.

We invite you back into the studio approx 2 weeks later to view your gallery of photos that have been professionally edited for viewing.  you will enjoy a lovely slideshow and then able to see the photos one by one to choose your selection.

Our package includes 12 digital photos and 4 medium prints that you can select at your viewing.  Alternatively if you can't decide you can upgrade and purchase the full gallery and choose 6 prints.  With your package you also get credit towards any wall art AND receive a voucher for your Newborn photo session.

 We are so glad to be back and open and since the 19th April we have been non-stop.  We have had lovely maternity, dance and family session in the studio and our Toddler mini sessions have been a real hit.  So much so we are continuing our special offers into the coming months.

I miss the studio so much, especially cause its new and still need to do bits and pieces, but I have amazing plans for dancers and models and budding photographers with workshops galore.  I can't wait, just need to wait till it is safe to reopen and safe to host group shoots.

 2020 do we even mention it? 

What an absolutely strange year!  This year has disappeared with not much to show.  Being in Lockdown for months I found my new hate for decorating - BUT my house looks amazing.  

I had a massive business refocus and decided once out of lockdown I was going to turn my business around and do more of what I love.  With the unfortunate lockdown, my studio had a massive leak which forced me out of my space, although I have been up and down with the madness of it all I can now announce my amazing news.

My new studio!  Yes I moved and am part of an amazing building.  Carlton House hosts some amazing businesses and an up and coming brand new cafe/bar The Carlton.

My space has been transformed into an amazing studio and I cannot wait for 2021 in here.  I’m really looking forward to next year.
